Overview
ExpoKit is a collection of copy-paste UI components, full screens, charts and app templates for Expo and React Native. Instead of installing a heavy UI library, you pull the source of each component into your own project with a shadcn-style CLI and own the code from then on.
I started it because every new Expo app I shipped for clients needed the same building blocks, and the existing kits were either web-first or hard to customise. Everything runs on iOS, Android, the web and Expo Go.
What I built
- @expokit/cli, a shadcn-style command line tool that adds components and blocks straight into an Expo project
- expo-charts, an animated, interactive charting library built on react-native-svg
- A set of native UI components, screens and app templates that work across iOS, Android and web
- The documentation site at expokit.karandev.in with live previews of every component
